Project summary

This project, also part of my Engineering Design I class, focused more on pure CADing skills compared to the Hand Mixer Teardown. We were tasked with choosing a device from several options and recreating it in SolidWorks. I chose what appeared to me the most challenging one, a SKIL power screwdriver. The geometry was indeed difficult to replicate, as it varied greatly throughout the device. In order to best approximate the geometry, I took and imported several pictures of the driver into SolidWorks and matched them to each other. I could then draw 2D cross sections of the driver from the tip down to the bottom of the handle and connect them by the loft tool. I then created the final features through various boss/base and cut operations.
