Project summary

This project was the final project in my materials and manufacturing II class. In this project my partners and I made a seat out of various scrap bike parts. We were tasked to employ at least one welded joint. Our seat uses a bike tire as the base, a front suspension fork as the support, pedals as footrests, and a bike seat, as … the seat. This project is one of my favorites because of the fact we worked with steel and in general a lot of heavy tools and machinery. This project was also my first ever exposure to welding, which was really fun to learn and to do. The final result was a functional chair that easily supported our body weight and was reasonable comfortable as well.
